I don’t usually write blogs back to back but today is really an exception!!! A friend/Student/Veteran asked if I would participate in a walk for www.ccsvifoundationcanada.org/ and of course I said yes and had a really great morning meeting new people and learning more about this foundation. After the walk he and his wife invited me back to their house for of coffee and to chit chat. I really appreciate how this family has taken me. It is remarkable the bond that we have formed. I swear one day we are going to find out that we are related by blood!! I have also developed such a wonderful bond with their daughter even though she is living on the west coast I feel this sisterly connection like we have know each other for years. It is really funny how a little Yoga class has become so powerful and touched some many people from different walks of life.
I have friends but more than that I have a support system from all over the country . Honestly months a go I had a very small tight circle of friends just within arms reach and now it is like I have an army of Yoga Warrior supporters everywhere wanting to help and just keep cheering the program on!! I never really thought months a go that things would reach this level. I remember one student asked me what do I get out this….I never really directly answered the question until now….This is what I get out of it….I have a family of Soldiers on Thursday evenings that I adore, I have my nurse and doctor friends that have loved me through good times and bad, I have a dear friend/yoga studio owner that I love so much and we have so many similar experiences (too many to list), I have a Wednesday night YW family that I love with all my heart and would never change a thing in our cozy studio, I have countless friends that I have recently met giving me lots of great support, I have a circle of military brass past/present that is in my corner because they can see the vision, I have First Responder friends that help my endlessly at the drop of a hat, I have a circle of new YW teachers that I have trained and know they will be awesome!! Most of all I have a Veteran student that really has taught me a lot about myself! My promise to him is that I will never give up…this program is my path, my DHARMA, it is why I am here. I would often wonder why we are put on this earth and now I know why I am here!!!
Namaste or have a nice day!!
Lots of Love Nicole
